Teachers use table saw to cut tiles to make Fraction Contraption at Sierra STEM Academy

The second STEM Academy was held in September 2010 at Colfax High School and taught by Jonathan Schwartz. Math and CTE instructors learned how to play, teach and construct “Fraction Contraption.” This program was co-sponsored with the Placer Union High School District. Jonathan Schwartz invented Fraction Contraption and has posted more information about the game at his Fraction Contraption web site .

The first STEM Academy was held in June 2010 and presented by Scott Seacrist, Lincoln High School and Dan Frank, Rocklin High School. Teachers learned how to make a clock using MasterCam.
