Partner Schools  

Schools in Placer and Nevada counties are working with Sierra College to develop new integrated curriculum programs to prepare them for further education and encourage Science, Engineering, Technology and Math (STEM) Careers.

Key accomplishments include:

  • 2,400 high school students were transported to Sierra College CTE Day in October 2009 and 2010
  • 8,600 middle and high school students explored career pathways using Career Cruising software
  • 2,500 high school and middle school students attended career pathway presentations
  • 650 high school students participated in strengthened CTE programs of study
  • 400 middle and high school students completed a manufacturing simulation using the Tech‐Explorer catapult project
  • 100 teachers and faculty attended professional development events/workshops
  • 11 teachers and faculty participated in externships (200 hours) with 10 companies
  • 15 new lessons (curriculum) developed
